Borneo - a new acaricide is launched to the market.

Borneo is a new acaricide based on etoxazole, a new active ingredient in a new chemical group.

• Borneo is effective at controlling Glasshouse Spider Mite, the two spotted spider mite (Tetranychus urticae).
• Borneo is approved for use on tomatoes and aubergines. A specific off label approval has been issued allowing use on ornamental plant production at grower’s own risk.
• Borneo inhibits chitin biosynthesis and works as a moulting inhibitor. It is a highly effective at killing mite nymphs and larvae. Adult females mites become sterile and eggs do not hatch..
• Borneo has strong residual activity and remains active for a number of weeks.
• Borneo is a non-systemic, contact acting acaricide with translaminar activity.
• Borneo provides another tool in pest resistance management, making an ideal partner in spray programmes for products with a different mode of action like Dynamec.
• Borneo is compatible with many beneficial insects.
