Cropaid Natural Plant Antifreeze


GLOBAL CLIMATE CHANGE

As extreme weather patterns affect UK agriculture/horticulture production it is likely that very hot summers are going to be the norm. Earlier spring growth leading to greater damage from late frosts is also a likely outcome of climate change. In these situations the use of products that can assist in providing the plant with some mechanism to offset extreme temperatures will be of great benefit.

CROPAID

Cropaid is a Natural Plant Antifreeze that can dramatically reduce the effects of cold and heat by increasing the plants resistance to damage from adverse temperatures.

Cropaid applied during the autumn can give buds on fruit bearing plants additional heat and cold resistance.
Cropaid applied during the spring when buds are developing and during the early fruit stages can increase the plants resistance to late cold weather.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Cropaid lowers the freezing point of plant cells and increases plant resistance to cold injury. It does this by encouraging the plant to produce "antifreeze" amino acids and "antifreeze" protein. Cropaid contains Thiobacillus bacteria and minerals which induce this.

The effects of Cropaid last 12-20 days so further sprays will be necessary depending on the temperature stress period.

  • Increased cold resistance for top and soft fruit by reducing damage to flowers and leaves.
  • Increased cold resistance by glasshouse crops such as salads, which can assist in reducing heating costs.
  • lncreased heat resistance by protected ornamental and edible species.
