Low Volume Misters and Fogging Machines.

Curtis Dynafog Ltd

Thermal Fogging and Ultra Low Volume (ULV) Cold Fogging Applications.

Fargro supply a range of DYNA-FOG machines which includes both thermal and cold fogging equipment, which can be used for many purposes. The advantages of using these techniques over conventional high volume sprayers are:
  • Spray droplets are optimally sized to improve targeting.
  • No run off of chemicals compared to conventional high volume applications.
  • Reduces labour costs considerably as the work is carried out more quickly.
  • Avoids application of high volume spray (excess water) when disease is prevalent particularly during low light, cold temperature conditions.

What is a fog application?

A thermal generated fog typically has a range of droplet size but most are very small from 0.15 - 10 microns and is characterised by a highly visible spray cloud because of the large volume of very small droplets produced. These machines are petrol driven, usually apply large volumes of liquid over a relatively short time. The machines always require an operator to be in supervision during application.

A standard cold fog (ULV) aerosol application produces droplet sizes of mainly 10 - 25 micron, but can produce droplets up to 50 microns through adjustment of the flow rate. A ULV aerosol application cannot be seen in the same way as a thermal fog. Droplets of a more precise size can be generated enabling adjustment of the settings for the target site. In many situations the application through these machines may be automated.

A typical high volume (knapsack) spray droplet would be in the range of 100-200 micron. Fogging techniques produce far more droplets from the same volume of liquid and therefore improved pest targeting. Coverage is far more efficient, from which effective control follows (1ml of liquid would produce 556,000,000 droplets at a particle size of 15 micron).

Fogging has extremely effective properties when it comes to pest and disease control. Such treatments can result in a quick reduction of an existing pest population when an effective fast acting insecticide is used.

Uses

Crop protection, public health pest control, disinfection, humidification, and odour control. Greenhouses, animal houses, food industry, entertainment industry (visual effects). Whatever your requirements we can match a machine to that use.

Disinfection:
It is extremely important in many situations that good disinfection takes place, this can be between crops, in animal houses or in public health situations. Droplets can be produced around 50 microns, which is optimal for buildings with a degree of residual activity. Ask Fargro for details.

Pest and Disease Control:
Small droplet distribution is essential for many pests and diseases in order to have efficacious results. Small particles can penetrate dense foliage crops and difficult to reach situations where conventional high volume sprays fail. Quick pest knockdown with excellent crop safety can be achieved with fogging technology.

Humidification:
Many situations demand high humidity levels and Dynafog equipment can cater for that requirement.

What machine is right for you?

Choose from our large range and check with our experienced staff to determine how to get the best of each and every situation with fogging and misting equipment. Fargro market a wide range of fogging equipment, has its own maintenance and repair service and carries a comprehensive range of spare parts. This service is unrivalled anwhere in the UK.

Where application of approved products is intended, users must ensure that the terms of the approvals are met and satisfy themselves that any "off label" use is safe and legal. If necessary Fargro can offer advice on this aspect.

A number of products have been specifically formulated for application with these types of machines.
